Fibre Broadband Connections
from the telecommunication experts
There are many different products that can provide your business with a broadband internet connection. FTTP (Fibre To The Premises) is the only full fibre product available other than a Leased Line.
FTTC, SOGEA & FTTP
Looking at the diagram on the right you can see three different products with two different coloured lines. The gold lines represent a copper line and the green a fibre line. ADSL is currently being phased and so we will ignore this.
FTTC (Fibre To The Cabinet) uses fibre from the exchange until it reaches the cabinet. These are the green boxes you may have seen on the street. From the cabinet the broadband connection travels along copper, the closer you are to the cabinet results in you being able to receive greater speeds. SOGEA works in the same way however you don't require an active telephone line.
FTTP (Fibre To The Premises) isn't currently available everywhere however is being rolled out across the country. As you can see the diagram show the fibre goes straight from the exchange to your premises. With the connection being full fibre you are able to obtain greater speeds than you would using FTTC or SOGEA.
Dedicated Internet Connections such as a Fibre Leased Lines are great for businesses that are dependent on a internet connection with no bandwidth issues and with Government grants available to help costs. There hasn't been a better time to have a connection installed. Click Here to find out more!
